Shabbat — The Weekly Sabbath

Shabbat begins every Friday at candle-lighting (18 minutes before sunset) and ends Saturday night after nightfall — when three stars are visible, typically 40–72 minutes after sunset depending on location. All 39 categories of melachah are prohibited. Friday is a full work day until candle-lighting. A ✡ marks a Shabbat coinciding with Yom Tov.
